Why is sodium diclofenac used: Sodium diclofenac is used to treat: arthritis and bone diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and acute gout and ankylosing spondylitis. Back pain. Muscle strain and joint pain and sports injuries and fractures. Conditions affecting tendons such as tendinitis. Mild pains. Do not take sodium diclofenac: If you have an allergy to the active ingredients or any other components of this medicine. If you are allergic to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs including acetylsalicylic acid. If you have or have had in the past a stomach ulcer or peptic ulcer, or gastrointestinal bleeding. If you have experienced stomach or intestinal problems after taking other NSAIDs. If you have severe liver or kidney problems. If you have serious heart problems. If you have had a stroke or heart attack or vascular problems. If you are in the last three months of pregnancy. Precautions and warnings: Inform your doctor about all your health conditions, including: If you have any gastrointestinal disorders including ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease. If you have kidney or liver problems. If you have a condition called porphyria. If you have any blood disorder or bleed easily. If you have high blood pressure. If you have angina, blood clots, or high cholesterol levels. If you have heart problems. If you have diabetes. If you smoke. If you have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular problems. Possible side effects: Stop using this product and seek immediate medical care if you develop a rash; itching; red or ulcerated or peeling skin; chest or throat tightness; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency of these side effects is unknown. Serious side effects: Severe chest pain and shortness of breath, sudden weakness and numbness, loss of vision, difficulty speaking, stomach pain with dark stools, allergic reactions. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your doctor or hospital immediately. Other medications and sodium diclofenac: Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, especially: Other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, blood thinners like warfarin, acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), diabetes medications, diuretics (water pills), lithium used for depression, antibiotics, heart and blood pressure medications, phenytoin, methotrexate. How to take sodium diclofenac: Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medication with or immediately after a meal. The usual dose is 25-50 mg two or three times daily. For children over one year old, the dose is 1-3 mg/kg/day divided into 2 or 3 doses. How to store sodium diclofenac: Store at room temperature below 77°F (25°C). Keep this medication out of reach of children. Do not use this medication after the expiration date printed on the package. *The form and method of administering 50 mg diclofenac tablets should be prescribed according to the indication and severity of the disease for each patient individually.
