Hyoscine Butyl Bromide 10 mg Tablets Why is Hyoscine Butyl Bromide used? Hyoscine Butyl Bromide is used to treat stomach, intestinal, and bladder spasms. It can be used to stop contractions before imaging. Do not take Hyoscine Butyl Bromide: • If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any other components of this medication. • If you have glaucoma. • If you have myasthenia gravis. • If you have or suspect intestinal obstruction. • If you have an intestinal blockage or it is not functioning properly (ileus). • If you have an enlarged colon. • If you have an enlarged prostate gland (for men). Precautions and warnings: Tell your doctor about all your health conditions, including: • If you have heart problems such as rapid heartbeat. • If you have hyperthyroidism. • If you have difficulty urinating. • If you have constipation. • If you have a fever. • If you have liver or kidney problems. Possible side effects: Stop using this product and seek medical attention immediately if you experience a rash; itching; red, sore, or peeling skin; chest or throat tightness; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency of these side effects is unknown. Serious side effects: • Eye problems: pain and loss of vision. Hyoscine Butyl Bromide interacts with the following: • Tricyclic antidepressants used for depression. • Medications that control your heartbeat. • Medications for severe mental illnesses. • Medications used for breathing problems (such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). • Antihistamines used for allergies. • Amantadine. • Metoclopramide. How to take Hyoscine Butyl Bromide: • This medication is intended for adults and children aged 6 years and older. • Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. • The usual dose is 20 mg, 3-4 times daily. • For children aged 6-12 years, the usual dose is 10 mg, 3 times daily. How to store Hyoscine Butyl Bromide: • Store at room temperature between 68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 25 degrees Celsius). • Keep this medication out of reach of children. • Do not use this medication after the expiration date printed on the package. *The form and method of administration of Hyoscine Butyl Bromide 20 mg/mL solution for injection and 5 mL/5 mL syrup should be prescribed according to the indication and severity of the disease for each patient individually.
